Christopher Ross

Acupuncturist / Traditional Chinese Medicine

I am a fully qualified practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, encompassing Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Tui Na massage, as well as Cupping and Moxibustion therapies. My training also included detailed knowledge of anatomy and physiology, western nutrition and Chinese functional food therapy.

I graduated with honours from Middlesex University in 2007, and have since been practicing from my own private clinic based at my home.

The clinical training aspect of my degree gave me the opportunity work and learn in a variety of interesting environments including The Asante Academy of Chinese Medicine, The Whittington Hospital pain clinic and The North Middlesex Hospital pain clinic.

I was fortunate enough to undertake a six month teaching and learning placement in Beijing during the final year of my degree, giving me the opportunity to observe and work with some extremely talented and professional practitioners and doctors at the Xi Yuan and China-Japan Hospitals in Beijing. This placement was run in conjunction with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. After graduating, I returned to Beijing the following year to undertake a further 6 month placement to build on my previous experiences.

I also hold an advanced diploma in Chinese Tui Na massage awarded by the Asante Academy of Chinese Medicine.

I am a fully registered member of the Acupuncture Society with full practice insurance provided by Holistic Insurance Services.

Between 2013 and 2015, I attended various seminars taught by Andrew Nugent-Head, a classically trained practitioner of Chinese Medicine, where I learned a number of advanced acupuncture techniques, along with Chinese bodywork techniques, which are similar in application to Tui Na massage, but based mainly on subtle manipulation of Qi as opposed to muscles, ligaments and tendons.

Throughout my studies, I was fortunate enough to observe and treat a wide variety of differing conditions, however, I have developed a strong personal interest in the treatment of various pain related conditions, ranging from musculoskeletal conditions to headaches and internal disorders.

I also have a strong interest in Qi Gong meditation and have been practicing for over ten years.
